Smart Thermostats

Heating and cooling consumes the greatest amount of energy in a household. Smart Thermostats provide an affordable and easy way for members to control the use of their heating and cooling system and lower the costs of their electric bills using features such as:

  • Occupancy and/or proximity sensors that can tell if a person has been away to reduce/save energy, when they are not at home.
  • Learning algorithms that avoid the need to program a set schedule
  • Ability for homeowners to control the heating and cooling system remotely through their wireless apps on their phones or tablets (especially valuable for homeowners with second homes)
  • Feedback notifications on the energy saving potential of your thermostat set point and other efficient settings

CPI offers an incentive of $100 for all qualifying thermostats and must be installed on a home with either an electric furnace or heat pump system.

Homes with gas backup heating do not qualify. Upon installation of the thermostat please complete the Rebate Form and submit to CPI with a copy of the purchase receipt.

Rebate amounts and program requirements are subject to change without notice. All homes or businesses are subject to inspection and usage data analyzed by participating in energy efficiency programs. Any rebates will be applied to past due amounts owed CPI before payment is issued.
